AUDITION INFORMATION

Auditions will be held on June 3rd - Jun 15th, 2008.

Please note that auditions are by appointment only and appointments will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL AUDITIONERS MUST PREPARE A SONG FOR THE AUDITION.  PREFERRED SONGS, SELECTED BY THE MUSICAL DIRECTOR, ARE LISTED BELOW.

AUDITIONS:

There will be separate auditions for adults and children,

Adult audition appointments (ages 15 and up) are available Tuesday, June 3rd, 6-10pm, Saturday June 7th, 10am - 1pm and 4pm - 10pm and Saturday June 14th 1-6pm.

Children audition appointments (ages 8 - 14) are available Saturday June 7th, 2pm-4pm and Saturday June 14th 10am-12pm.

There will be separate dance auditions on Sunday June 15th, 2-4pm.  Dancers should be 'trained dancers' - i.e. individuals that are currently enrolled in dance classes or have been trained.  Dancers will be required to sing during this production.  Any dancer who wants to be considered for a lead role should also book a vocal audition appointment. 

CALLBACKS:

June 22nd, 1-5pm

WHERE:

Singer for adults and children will be held at 100 Crimea St, Guelph.

Dance auditions will be held at Encore Dance Studios in Elmira.

PREPARATION:

Auditioners are required to bring a non-returnable photo. They should arrive fifteen minutes early to fill out an Audition Form and a Costume Measurement Form.  Please be prepared to stay about an hour and a quarter maximum.  Singers should prepare one song from the list below (this will be posted shortly).  A pianist will be provided.
All parts require some level of movement; please dress comfortably as there will be a movement component to the audition.

Dancers should wear dancewear and bring jazz shoes for dance audition appointments.  The auditions will consist of a short dance combination, no previously prepared movement is required for the audition.

REHEARSALS:

Tentatively Sunday afternoon (2-5pm) and evening (7-10pm), Tuesday and Thursday evenings (7-10pm) starting September 2nd.

PERFORMANCES:

6 performances: November 19, 20, 21, 22, 22 and 23, 2008
Regular attendance at rehearsals is required and expected and is a condition of being cast.  Availability during tech week: Nov 14th-19st. is also mandatory.

EXPENSES:

You don't need to be a member to audition, but membership in RCMPI is required to take part in the show. Individual membership is currently $30.00 per year, $20 for students and seniors. 
There will be a participation fee of up to $50.00 for cast members of this production.  The participation fee is set by the Board of RCMPI and is used towards show and cast-related expenses.

The following songs have been selected to portray a particular song style that reflects the needs of Beauty And The Beast.  While we prefer that you select one of these songs, this list is not intended to be exclusive.  If you have a favourite song that you think is in an appropriate style for Beauty And The Beast and that you would prefer to perform in audition, please feel free to use that song, however we cannot guarantee accompaniment for songs that are not on the list.
